This zine is called ‘ode to self’ and a dedication to your own self. I made it all in the shape of a Victorian love token and sealed it with an old fashioned wax seal. It’s to be opened and read in hard times. It has a poem that can be read in different ways, one for the now and one about the future. I kinda see it as a little altar to your own self. I made a LOT of prototypes for this and it was so much work getting this perfect but now i’m so happy with it! I got inspired by old victorian love letters & medieval tapestries. A gift either for yourself or someone you love.

What is Riso Printing?
For each print I use a Japanese printing technique called riso printing. This technique uses environmentally friendly rice-based ink, which results in the fluorescent and bright hues that bring the prints to life. Because each color is a separate layer that goes through the riso printer, each print has its own unique texture and character, making each print original. It is a sustainable and unique way of printing.

How to take care of Riso?
One of the characteristics of riso prints is that they never dry completely. They always remain a little wet, but fortunately they do not smudge unless you really rub over the print. So be careful when handling the riso prints. If the print does show smudges, you can remove the riso ink with an eraser.
